The workshop will take place at the Parkhotel, Bad Kreuznach, a place of historical tradition. For example, it was the place where the French Président de la République, Charles de Gaulle, and the German chancellor, Konrad Adenauer, met in November 1958 for the very first time on German ground, marking the beginning of an intense partnership after the catastrophy of the Second World War.
The hotel has been completely refurbished recently, bringing it to modern standards without losing the atmosphere of a traditional place. The hotel is situated in the Kurpark close to the river, with calm and pleasant surroundings. On the other hand, the center of the town can be reached within a few minutes by foot.
We have reserved a block of rooms for the workshop. The room rate is 90.00 € for single occupancy and 137.00 € for double occupancy. These prices include breakfast and VAT as well as complimentary use of the nearby Cruzenia thermals. Hotel reservations can be made on the registration form.

Bad Kreuznach is in the centre of the Nahe valley. The Nahe valley is one of Germany's smaller wine-growing areas. The white wines (Riesling grapes in particular) are said to be of a character in between those of the better known Rheingau and Mosel areas. Prominent wine guides (e.g. Johnson) list a lot of high-quality wine-growing estates on the Nahe, among which you could have the choice. Wine will certainly play a role in our planning of social events.
It may also be of historical interest that in the Pauluskirche (St. Paul's church) a world-famous member of Germany's Jewish community was married to a well-educated woman of nobility in 1843: Karl Marx and Jenny von Westfalen.
For participants who come to Germany via Frankfurt International Airport, there is an hourly train service to Bad Kreuznach via Mainz, which takes about 1 hour and 20 minutes to go at a price of roughly 10.00 €. The hotel is in about 1.5 km distance from the railway station. Railway station and city center are within walking distance from the hotel. More detailed information based on current schedules will be available prior to the workshop.
The weather at the beginning of September should be still pleasantly warm, but you should be prepared for cold and rainy days.
